Expertise for the Overseas

Asking Experts: Intro

Knowing facts about the UK Bank holidays will give you an advantage if you decide to set up in the UK but hold your horses as you may be shocked to learn that you need to know more than when May Day is to successfully expand to Europe. Don’t put your clogs in the cupboard and go home though; I’ve got the answers!

All businesses need a bit of advice occasionally!

Setting up, selling and recruiting in the UK and Europe is almost always more difficult than most US businesses imagine. There are pitfalls and obstacles that businesses don’t expect but need to prepare for, like the tiny but significant cultural nuances between European countries, knowing every potential competitor inside out and the intolerable task of having to learn how to say “hello” in 23 languages of the European Union before you are legally allowed to trade. OK, only joking about that last part! But I would like to emphasise the importance of research before you start to set up here. A pat on the back for you though, as clearly your conscientiousness has led you to read this blog (I know it is not my jokes that have brought you here) and your research into expanding into Europe has already begun.

One small step for you, one giant expansion to Europe for a baby.

Like a little baby, the early stages of development are arguably the most crucial to businesses, and when the most problems are likely to occur. Whilst, hopefully, this blog is helping you with your first footsteps, I have recently spoken to three experts who offered their professional advice and tips to avoid the teething problems when moving here.
